Efforts to Increase Demand for Air Travel

Strong Ties with the Local Community

Central Japan International Airport Co.,Ltd. partners with local governments and the business community, to help them to fully benefit from the airport’s advantages. The three parties constitute the Central Japan International Airport Promotion Council, and work in close cooperation to promote the enhanced use of the airport.

The Central Japan International Airport Promotion Council consists of:

  • Local governments (Aichi/Gifu/Mie Prefectural Governments, Nagoya City Government)
  • Business community (Chubu Economic Federation and Nagoya Chamber of Commerce & Industry)
  • Central Japan International Airport Co., Ltd.

Stimulating Outbound Demand

We are working together with the local community to stimulate demand, by solidifying the existing routes of our airport's flights, increasing the frequency and capacity of existing flight routes, and adding new flight routes, in order to make Central Japan International Airport a preferred means of travel.

Encouraging More Business Travel

The following efforts are now underway, as part of the operations of the Central Japan International Airport Promotion Council.

  • Sales to major companies in Central Japan, to make the airport their preferred means of business travel.
  • Publication of a Business Guidebook, which contains comprehensive information on business travel from Central Japan International Airport.
  • Public meetings with business matchmaking sessions, held between service airlines and major companies in Central Japan with frequent international travel opportunities.
  • Surveys of international business travel trends at major companies in Central Japan, to be used to implement effective marketing promotions.

By taking advantage of our ample domestic flight network and a terminal that enables efficient connections, we have been promoting the creation and sales of international travel packages with flights that go through Central Japan International Airport, for passengers who live in our destination cities in Japan.

Working with the Community to Stimulate Inbound Demand

Our airport has been partnering with airlines, local governments, and the travel and tourism industry in Central Japan to increase inbound travel, in order to bolster our existing flight network and establish new routes.

We conduct tours of enticing tourist attractions in Central Japan for foreign travel agencies, and for the media in order to gain media coverage.

We promote our flight network and tourist attractions in Central Japan by posting advertisements in public spaces in foreign destination cities and on websites.

We hold seminars and business meetings outside Japan to connect their local travel agencies with travel industry players in Central Japan, and to encourage travel to the Central Japan region via Central Japan International Airport.

Supporting International Events Held in Central Japan

We support a number of international events held in nearby cities, such as the World Cosplay Summit and Ironman 70.3 Japan, which draw many visitors to the airport.
