Cargo Facilities

With an area of 26 hectares, Centrair’s cargo area is located at the north of the airport island. Currently, Centrair can handle 600,000 tons of international cargo and 60,000 tons for domestic. To meet a growing demand for cargo volume in the future, the existing cargo area can be expanded for new cargo facilities.

Centrair Operation

  • First class airport which international and domestic operations are combined at a single terminal.
  • 24-hour a day operation.
  • 3,500-meter-long runway.

Shorter Lead Time

  • Freighter aircraft spots(*1) are strategically located adjacent to cargo warehouses which directly open onto aprons(*2).
  • Truck waiting area is situated opposite international cargo warehouses for smooth loading/unloading.

Lower Cost

  • Import/Export cargo handling at the same facilities reduces space requirements and improves operational efficiency.

Enhanced Convenience

  • International cargo warehouse has a 10-meter canopy on airside and 20-meter canopy on landside for good working conditions against cargo wet damage.
  • Adjacent locations of domestic and international cargo areas facilitate air cargo connections from domestic to international flights or vice versa.
  • Adequate storage space for GSE(*3) and ULD(*4) is available.
  • Air cargo area is strategically located immediately adjacent to the Development Site of Aichi Public Enterprise Bureau for distribution, and serves as a comprehensive logistics base with systemized functions.
  • Integrated Bonded Area is applied to the Development Site of Aichi Public Enterprise Bureau for distribution as well as Centrair cargo area.

Enhanced Security Measures

  • IC card entry system is introduced for access control to cargo area.

(*1) Spot : A place where aircraft are parked in an apron
(*2) Apron : An area where aircraft are parked for loading, unloading, refueling or maintaining
(*3) GSE : Ground Support Equipment, the generic term used to refer to equipments for delivering or loading/unloading aircraft cargo
(*4) ULD : Unit Load Device, any type of container, container with integral pallet, aircraft container or aircraft pallet
