Emergency transportation via Boeing 787 transportation route, the first case of a third party use.
Gas turbine generators for reconstruction of the Tohoku earthquake had been transshipped from a vessel to an aircraft at Centrair using “Transport Route for Very Large Cargo” which is paved at the south end of the airport island for the exclusive purpose of constant and smooth transshipment of Boeing 787 aircraft components produced nearby the airport and shipped to the United States.
