Nagoya appears on the surface as a dull industrious city that does not have much to offer for people ignited with wanderlust. Due to this impression, I did not have any real urges to get to know the area. Fortunately, the two-day trip gave me a valuable opportunity to discover many interesting places within and around the area.

When you are traveling in a country you have never been before, you will often notice that the major places you want to visit are not always the most representative features of the country. Japan is a land with its own culture and history and is totally different from other countries in the world. If you want to go to Japan, you want to see everything.

How amazing the trip was. I must tell more and more friends of mine. Tokyo and Osaka are not the only good places in Japan for traveling. Chubu is another top choice for starting one’s experience in Japan. I love it here, the place in which I’m living.

After visiting all of Japan’s most famous attractions, such as those in Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka, and assuming I had uncovered most of Japan, I was in for a very pleasant surprise when I began to explore more around Nagoya. The Chubu region is right in the centre of Japan. This weekend, I am lucky enough to have travelled to Mie prefecture. Mie is rich in history, culture and natural beauty.
