After a long day of exploring around Sakae, Nagoya, having a good dinner of Filipino dishes is a good idea. The restaurants Sampaguita and Kaibigan are located in the Tokyo Building near Ikeda Park. These two restaurants offer famous Filipino dishes. Sampaguita is the oldest restaurant of the two, having been serving customers for 27 years, while Kaibigan has been around for 13 years. You can choose three kinds of entrées with rice for a very affordable price. They also have a small sari sari store where you can buy traditional grocery items from the Philippines. The famous, mouth-watering balut (duck egg) is also available here. You will feel like you are in the Philippines every time you dine at Sampaguita and Kaibigan.
★Access: A 6-minute walk from Sakae Station on the Higashiyama subway line. Go south from Hisaya Odori intersection, turn left on the third street, and then turn left at the third intersection.
