Kiyomizu-dera, designated as a national treasure, is one of the most famous temples in Japan. Kiyomizu-dera (the temple of clear water) is named after the Otowa waterfall, where visitors are always lined up to drink from the sacred Otowa water. During special seasons, you can see the hondo (main hall) beautifully illuminated at night. I especially love the view of the hondo in autumn surrounded by colorful autumn leaves.
