Nagashima Spa Land is a theme park located in Mie Prefecture which specializes in roller coasters and rides with speed. Don't worry, though! There are also attractions that will let you relax after trying the roller-coasters. I heard about this theme park from a friend of mine. He recommended going there with some friends and having fun together. After discussing it with my friends, we decided to go there in December, right before the exams and tests strike.

You can get there by train or by bus from Nagoya. We hopped onto bus and it only took not more than one hour. The bus stopped near the entrance gate and we had to walk for some minutes. There were already people lining up amidst the cold weather. The passport ticket cost 4,500 yen and included the entrance fee and rides, but not the Anpanman Museum. I saw the waterpark when entered the gate, and apparently it only opens in summertime.

Upon entering the rides area, I was having difficulty choosing what ride I should go on first. Finally, I chose to ride the Tea Cup and the Merry-Go-Round, simply because I had never ridden those two before.

We rode simple rides and then moved on to the main attractions of the park, the roller coasters. The roller coasters had quite long lines. We waited for 10-15 minutes to ride one coaster. We rode the Steel Dragon and the Acrobat. It was really fun, thrilling, and exciting! We also rode attractions like Star Flyer, Cork Screw, and Space Shot. It was fun way to release our stress by screaming out loud.

We took a lunch break at around 1 p.m. and relaxed for a little bit. After recharging our energy, we went to other rides and lined up for the Aurora ferris wheel. Once we were up, I suddenly felt a tingling sensation all over my body. My friends even joked about what would happen if we fell down suddenly.

The view from above was really beautiful! We could see the coastline clearly and the blue sky. It was mesmerizing.

For the last ride, we rode on the White Cyclone. The name itself sounds scary, don’t you think? Anyway, for this particular ride, we waited almost an hour! I guess this attraction was really popular among visitors. The White Cyclone was really intense!

Nagashima Spa Land is the place to go for an adrenaline rush. You can scream as loud as you can or even laugh while you ride the attractions.

You can go to Nagashima Spa Land for a day trip because it is also near Nabana no Sato, where you can see the famous and beautiful winter illumination. For me, I liked the Steel Dragon and the Acrobat the most among all the rides.

If you are in the Chubu area, why don’t you pay a visit to this theme park and tell me your favorite rides?)
