ECHIZEN SUISEN LAND - FUKUI

Japan Travel - Nagoya, Chubu
Posted on March 4, 2016

At this moment, you can often hear people complain about how cold it is. What can I say, it's “winter”, right? Given this, you would mostly be out to go skiing and snowboarding. Or probably just locking yourself up in your comfortable home since you can't think of any place to go that doesn't involve extreme action. So maybe the perfect place for you would be Echizen Suisen Land.

You won’t even believe that flowers still bloom during winter, but what's awesome about this place is that the mountainside by the sea is full of "narcissuses". Narcissus, or Suisen is a fragrant variety of Daffodil. It is also considered as the "Prefectural Flower" of Fukui and grows in a cluster in Echizen Misaki Suisenkyou (a part of Fukui along the coast). For an entrance of 300 yen, you can enjoy the view of thousands of narcissuses with the lighthouse and the blue sea as a background. The view indeed is breathtaking.
