Nagoya Castle

SHORYUDO
Built by Ieyasu Tokugawa in 1612, the Nagoya Castle features a shining gold shachi (mythical sea creature) on its gigantic castle tower, which is a symbol of Nagoya. One-thousand sakura trees are in full bloom on the castle grounds in the springtime, attracting large bustling crowds of people who come to enjoy the hanami season.
