Nagoya’s Agriculture Center, located in Hirabari, offers an unexpected touch of nature inside the city. It’s a pleasant place to visit during all seasons, but particularly during the blooming of the plum trees in spring! You will be overwhelmed by a sea of blossoms surrounded by green bamboo groves.
From the peaceful grass field with a view of the main building and plum trees, you can walk through trees and flowers toward the greenhouses. These are filled with nicely maintained flowers and plants. Children will enjoy visiting the Agriculture Center, since there is a farm with a fine variety of animals. Children can learn to milk fake cow udders, sheer sheep, and more. You can watch cute little chicks being born on a daily basis, and with a bit of luck, you might be welcomed by newborn piglets or calves.
The center also grows its own vegetables and fruit, which you can buy in the shop near the main entrance gate.
Seasonal activities are organized, and prepacked meals are occasionally for sale. Alternatively, you can simply enjoy some ice cream made from locally produced milk.
