    Takasu Snow Park is one of the largest ski resorts in western Japan, with 12 slopes for beginners and ski enthusiasts alike. Three of the slopes are 4,000 meters long, making them ideal for high-speed skiing. And with a children's area, it's perfect for families. If skiing is not your forte, take the 2,700-meter-long, 15-passenger cable car to the TAKASU TERRACE observation deck at the top of the mountain where you can enjoy a beautiful sea of clouds and winter scenery. The adjacent Dynaland has 21 slopes and is open until 11 pm for night skiing, the longest opening hours in Japan, and in winter, a romantic fireworks display is held.

    Directions: 100 minutes by highway bus from Nagoya Station to Hirugano Kogen SA, transfer to shuttle bus after getting off the bus or 150 minutes by car from Chubu International Airport Centrair.

  • Bokka no Sato

    Located at an altitude of 1,000 meters on the Hirugano Plateau, Bokka no Sato is a ranch that combines the characteristics of a farm and a garden for parents and children to enjoy. When the flower season arrives, tulips, cherry blossoms, English roses, lavender, cosmos, and other flowers bloom one after another. Walk with cute horses, cows, sheep, rabbits, and the popular alpacas.
    During the winter season, you can take a bath in the hot springs while snow still rests on the ground, and ride in horse-drawn sleighs. The park also has a store and restaurant selling ice cream and dairy products, as well as a wooden craft museum with free admission, making it a fun place for the whole family.

    Directions: 100 minutes from Nagoya Station to Hirugano Kogen SA by highway bus. Transfer to a courtesy bus (reservation required).

    Hirugano Kogen Ski Resort is a great ski resort for families and beginners. All seven slopes are perfect for beginners and intermediate skiers, and there is a ski and snowboard school for children starting from the age of three. There are also ski and snowboard schools for children as young as three years old. The slopes are gentle and wide, allowing parents to relax. You can also rent all the ski equipment you need, such as caps, goggles, gloves, and clothing. Even if you don't know anything about skiing, you can enjoy sledding and play in the snow. It's the perfect place for your kids to get their first taste of snow!

    Shirakawa-go is in one of the snowiest areas in Japan, and traditional Gassho-zukuri (thatch-roofed) style houses reflect the wisdom of our ancestors who endured the harsh climate.
    Gassho-zukuri houses were first built at the end of the 17th century and have been preserved for hundreds of years.
    In winter, the houses are lit up in the snowy weather, creating a fantastic and photogenic atmosphere.

    Access: 180 min. by highway bus from Nagoya Station / 180 min. by car from Central Japan International Airport (Centrair).

Gifu Prefecture is in the middle of Japan and is within easy reach of Nagoya, Kansai, and Hokuriku.
There are many sightseeing spots like Takayama with its old Japanese townscape, Shirakawa-go with its original Japanese landscape, and Gero Onsen (hot springs).
In particular, Gujo City, located in the center of the prefecture, is surrounded by majestic nature, with the Shiratori, Takawashi, and Meiho areas and highlands.
In winter, the area enjoys abundant snowfall, and visitors can experience powder snow at as many as ten ski resorts with various unique characteristics.
