The secret to the taste of sake lies in the pure water. All five Suwa breweries use subterranean water from the Kirigamine mountains, but each brews sake creating its own unique flavor, with its original technique and style. Each of the five breweries is a rival as well as a partner to each other and has made this town famous for its sake throughout Japan. If you're looking to get tipsy, this is the place to be!
