October 21, 2019
On November 22nd (Friday) and 23rd (Saturday / holiday) 2019, the G20 Aichi-Nagoya Foreign Ministers’ Meeting will be held in Nagoya. Around the meeting, large-scale traffic regulations are planned for the city center of Nagoya and the city’s highways.
As for Centrair, since many foreign officials come and leave Japan through it, the airport is planning to strengthen its security guards during the period of the meeting. Baggage inspection will be conducted when entering the terminal and some bus services will be suspended. We regret to inform everyone of likely delays caused during this period. Please come to the airport with plenty of time before boarding. We ask for your understanding and cooperation.
From November 21 (Thursday) to 24th (Sunday), the airport is planning to strengthen its security guards, and there will be baggage inspections and ID identification when entering the terminals. With strengthened measures, the security inspection area is expected to become more crowded than usual.
If you are flying during those days, please arrive at the airport as early as possible.
Airport buses departing from and arriving at Centrair will be unable to keep regular schedules due to traffic restrictions on the expressway and surrounding roads. Depending on the route, some services may be unavailable or there may be changes in the schedule. For more details, check with your bus operator.
Coin lockers will gradually become unavailable 2 weeks prior to the meeting, and shut down completely from November 20th (Wednesday) to 24th (Sunday).
Please use baggage storage or temporary baggage holding service.
During the period, all items stored in the coin lockers will be removed.
During the G20 Aichi-Nagoya Foreign Ministers' Meeting, the Sky Deck may be temporarily closed from November 21 (Thursday) to 24 (Sunday).
Due to the G20 Aichi-Nagoya Foreign Ministers' Meeting, heavy traffic is expected between November 21 (Thursday) and November 24 (Sunday) (including before and after the meeting), due to large-scale traffic regulations coming into effect mainly in Nagoya city.
During this period, we ask for your cooperation in alleviating traffic congestion, such as refraining from driving your private vehicle, or rescheduling the use of commercial vehicles, etc.
Ahead of the G20 Aichi-Nagoya Foreign Ministers' Meeting, the G20 Aichi-Nagoya Foreign Ministers' Ordinance on the Prohibition of Small Unmanned Aircraft (Aichi Prefecture Ordinance No. 42. Hereinafter referred to as “the ordinance”) has been enforced.
As a result, it is prohibited to fly unmanned aircraft (drones, radio controlled aircraft, etc.) in Centrair and its surrounding areas of approximately 1,000 meters, from November 10 (Sunday) to November 24 (Sunday).
Please note that if you fly an unmanned aircraft in the area without permission during the period, you will be penalized by relevant laws and regulations.
Please note that the flight of unmanned aircraft around airports is regulated by the Aviation Law outside the above period.
